Brothers In Arms Foundation

In Memory Of

Gunnery Sergeant Robert Gilbert came into the Marine Corps at the age of eighteen in the summer of 2000.  He enlisted with the desire to always have a challenge, make a difference, and defend his country.  Rob constantly faced challenges which he conquered daily through his leadership and "Never Quit" attitude.  During GySgt Gilbert's career he was promoted meritoriously numerous times.  In 2002, at the age of twenty, GySgt Gilbert was one of three Marines, who were the youngest promoted to the rank of Sergeant.

He was constantly making a difference in and outside the Marine Corps.  Whether it was by fighting terrorism overseas, which he did on all 4 of his combat deployments to the Middle East or by tackling and subduing a would be car-jacker in a parking lot while simultaneously reprogramming his cell phone! . He also supported the Bataan Death March through the Brothers In Arms Foundation to raise money and awareness for another critically injured Marine.

The Brother's in Arms Foundation was directly involved in providing air travel for GySgt Gilbert's family and friends, which aided in getting them to his bedside in Bethesda, MD.  The Brother's in Arms Foundation even after providing air travel has still offered to assist the family with anything they need.  GySgt Gilbert would like to continue to make a difference and by donating to the foundation, support can go where it is needed...to fellow Brother's in Arms.
